SA BIOGRAPHIE
Né le 25 septembre 1951 à Oakland, en Californie, Mark Hamill a eu une enfance mouvementée.
Fils d'un capitaine de l'US Navy, il a sillonné les États-Unis de part en part (Californie, Virginie, New York) ainsi que le Japon, où son militaire de père avait été muté.
De retour aux États-Unis, il intègre la Los Angeles City College, section art dramatique, et effectue ses débuts d'acteur en 1970 dans le "Bill Cosby Show".
Trois ans plus tard, il tient le rôle de Kent Murray dans la série "General Hospital", et, en 1974, tient la vedette dans "The Texas Wheelers", une autre série comique.
Il enchaîne ensuite les films et séries sur le petit écran, jusqu'à cette belle année de 1976, où il se voit sélectionné par George Lucas pour interpréter le rôle de Luke Skywalker dans La guerre des étoiles.
Le film ayant eu le succès que l'on sait, Mark Hamill devient une star internationale.
Il continue cependant à tourner pour la télévision, et retrouve l'empire Star wars en 1980 et 1983, pour les épisodes V et VI de la saga.
Fauché dans son élan par un accident de voiture qui lui vaudra six ans d'absence des écrans, Hamill se produit toutefois dans "Amadeus", une pièce présentée à Broadway dans laquelle il incarne Mozart.
1989 : retour à l'écran dans Slipstream (Le souffle du futur, de Steven Lisberger, avec Bill Paxton).
Plus récemment, on l'a revu en prêtre vieilli dans le remake du Village des damnés réalisé par John Carpenter.
Malgré ces tentatives de come-back, Mark Hamill ne parvient pas à s'imposer et à se débarrasser de l'encombrant Luke Skywalker.
C'est peut-être l'une des raisons pour lesquelles il s'est tourné vers un autre écran, celui d'ordinateur, pour lequel il tient le rôle du colonel Chris Blair dans la saga "Wing Commander", qui compte quatre opus créés sur CD-ROM par Origin.
Visiblement intéressé par les choses du cyberspace et du numérique, Hamill a également prêté sa voix aux jeux "Gabriel Knight" et "Full Throttle", développés par... LucasArts.
Il est aujourd'hui le père de trois enfants, qu'il a eus avec Marilou York, son épouse depuis 1978.
