GILLIAN ANDERSON : SA BIOGRAPHIE
Gillian Leigh Anderson est née le 9 août 1968 à Chicago, dans
l'Illinois. Elle rallie une troupe de théâtre amateur durant ses
études secondaires, et poursuit sa formation à la Cornell
University d'Ithaca puis à la Goodman Theater School à Chicago.
Après s'être fixée à New York, elle tient un des rôles principaux de "The Philanthropist", de Christopher Hampton, au Long Wharf Theater, et remporte le Theater World Award pour sa prestation dans la pièce d'Alan Ayckbourne, "Absent Freinds".
Après un petit rôle dans le drame The Turning, elle est choisie par Chris Carter pour devenir, dans la série "The X-Files", Dana Scully, une scientifique cartésienne et terre-à-terre perpétuellement en désaccord avec son évanescent collègue Fox Mulder. Le rôle de sa vie, sans doute, qu'elle tient depuis près de six ans. Décidée à faire également carrière au cinéma, elle profite des quelques moments de répit que lui laissent les "X-Files" pour apparaître sur grand écran. On la verra ainsi début 1999 dans The Mighty, aux côtés de Sharon Stone et Gena Rowlands, puis dans Dancing About Architecture, avec, entre autres, Sean Connery et Dennis Quaid.
